Sapphire glass in a watch is one of the most valued and prestigious materials used to protect the dial. In fact, it is not glass in the traditional sense, but a synthetic sapphire crystal – aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), produced under laboratory conditions. Its greatest advantage is its exceptional hardness and scratch resistance – it is only surpassed in this regard by diamond. As a result, sapphire glass remains perfectly clear even after many years of use and shows no signs of daily contact with hard objects like keys or coins.
